In the years following its independence, Croatia undertook accelerated construction of a modern road network that today is known as one of the best in the world. In 2021, Croatian Motorways received the prestigious international award for road safety from the International Road Federation.

No matter whether you are a first-time visitor, or an old friend and a highly regarded guest, you must have noticed the variety of landscapes and terrain in a relatively small area. From vast plains to rolling country and mountain massifs, to typical Mediterranean landscapes, in just a few hours’ drive you will experience several climate zones, have your sense of adventure awaken and get that good “on the road” feeling.

Still, we need your help to make your journey as safe and comfortable as possible. Please make sure to pay attention to traffic signs, special traffic regulation and the times of greatest congestion. With good planning and collected information, your holiday can be safer and even more comfortable. Set aside enough time for your journey, take frequent breaks or simply make your stay longer by visiting one of many natural parks or other interesting sites close to Croatia’s motorway network.
